Ssimablacky, je pense pas que EVS soit mal vu en France (en tout cas pas dans mon entourage). J'ai pris un break d'un an dans mes études (des études, par ailleurs, très portées sur le diplome et le prestige) pour partir et personne ne m'a jamais dit que j'avais tort (ni mon école, ni mes proches). A la limite, on m'aurait plutot donné tord de partir dans les Balkans. La localisation "dérangeait" surement plus que le Service en lui même. Ma situation ne fait que donner raison aux gens qui disent qu'on choisi de "glander". Concretement, je fais pas énormement de choses mais ce n'était pas mon but initial, je ne cherchais pas des vacances. Pas du tout.

Call for French EVS volunteer in Macedonia for approved long term project “Be Informed, Get Active!”
Coalition of youth organizations SEGA would like to host EVS volunteers in a 12- month individual EVS activity (01.03.2013 – 28.02.2014).
The volunteer will be involved in daily work in the offices in SEGA working on different tasks, activities and projects.
The objectives of the project are set for the volunteers to feel the cultural and social differences, to familiarize them with the field of youth work, youth policy and youth information in Macedonia and exchange experience in order to increase their meaning among local youth and to make ours services more helpful and user-friendly. There are many types of activities where the volunteer will be involved such as running workshops and educations for local young people using different tools that can be useful for group learning and providing youth work and information linked with the local community development.
Most of the activities and projects where the volunteer will be implicated are related with youth information, education, human and civil rights and leisure.
There will be open space for the volunteer to implement their ideas to improve the quality of the project and encourage more and more youngsters to be active in the events delivered by them. During these experiences the volunteer as well as the youngsters will have intercultural learning in order to have a better understanding in each other culture.
Involvement in the initiation and implementation of upcoming projects and events is inevitable and included in the activity plans for the inclusion of an EVS volunteers.
Volunteer profile and recruitment process:
The volunteer should be in 18 – 30 years of age. He/she should have computer skills in Microsoft Office and using Internet. It would be good to have knowledge in Adobe Photoshop, Corel Draw, FrontPage but it is not obligatory. The volunteer should have good communication capabilities, able to work in a team, willing to work with young people from different nationalities and religions. The volunteer need to be responsible, diligent, creative, open minded, ambitious, interested in innovative ways of communication and European citizenship.
Service description
The EVS Service for this project is complying with the qualitative criteria of the EVS charter because first of all we have considered all mechanisms to provide solid partnership between involved organizations. Also, local community will gain considerable benefits of this project: meeting other cultures, gaining information about Youth in Action and other mobility and non-formal learning opportunities in local and international level, learning other languages nad cultures, etc.
The volunteer will be involved in the programme of SEGA working in the field of communication, youth information and volunteerism.
