Of course, if you decide to learn list of vocabulary it would help, but I am afraid that you'll soon become discouraged The easiest thing to do would be to read about subjects that interest you but in English
What could also help you the most is probably reading english novels of english authors such as Hemmingway, Salinger, Fitzgerald, Morrisson, Steinbeck or anyone else that masterize the subtilities of this language.
But movies and TV shows will help your pronunciation much more. The only thing I can suggest : don't learn it by forcing yourself to read lists of vocabulary, you will much likely become pissed and that would be a shame.
